Colorado: An Adventure-Seeker's Playground!
Colorado: An Adventure-Seeker's Playground!
Lately, I have found myself drawn to the beauty of Colorado. Whether you love the big cities like Denver or Colorado Springs, or the ski slopes of Vail or Aspen, or the quaint mountain towns of Telluride or Durango, Colorado has something for everyone.
I have been lucky enough to go explore some of Southern Colorado over the last few weeks. I do believe I have left a piece of my heart in Colorado.
Four-wheeling over Imogene Pass was daunting and exhilarating at the same time. The Tomboy Ghost Town sits close to the top of the pass. An 1800s mining town, it featured a school, store, stable, even a YMCA with tennis courts.
After making the 6-mile hike from Mountain Village to Telluride, I treated myself to a cold local brew and a GIANT pretzel at High Pie Pizzeria and Tap Room (go there, you can thank me later).
A visit to my favorite Telluride bookstore, Between the Covers, took up most of my afternoon, and it was time to eat again. You may have guessed that eating is one of my favorite pastimes. Tacos del Gnar satisfied all of my cravings with the yummy goodness of the Avo and the Pork Belly tacos and left me wishing I had room to try more!
Lake Nighthorse, only open to the public since April, showed me more of the immeasurable beauty of Colorado. Nestled right in Durango, it was a water lover's dream! Boats, kayaks, paddle boarders, and fishermen all enjoyed the views and serene landscape with me.
Truly a special place, I will see you again soon Colorado!
Until next time,
Tiffany
